Soft Hard

During the Soviet Union, the television program was controlled by the communistic leaders. And whenever something „bad“ happened (Chruschtschow’s death, the August Putsch in 1991…) all the TV channels interrupted their program and showed a record of the Swan Lake ballet instead. The dancer on the wallpaper illustrates how the TVs projected the sorrows of the regime into the living rooms of the people. They knew something troubling had happened which was about to hit their life – just like the falling curtain from black feathers is about to hit the scene.
