Milk and Honey

Just like Disney the Soviet animation studio Soyuzmultfilm created their own version of the clumsy little bear Winnie the Pooh from the book series by A. A. Milne. The figure became very popular when it first appeared in a short film in 1969 (Link).
In 1972 the US company Pepsi-Cola became the first western product legally approved to be sold in the USSR, after the Soviet president Chruschtschow tried the American drink in public during a US national trade show in Moscow. The picture of Chruschtschow drinking Pepsi-Cola became a symbol of the warming relationships of the two superpowers. The two bears represent the two superpowers which try to get along in order to create the land of milk and honey.
